When it comes to eco-friendliness, Agreena 3-in-1 Wrap silicone bakeware effectively replaces the need for disposables like cling film, aluminium foil, baking paper, and many other single-use items, most of which contain harmful chemicals that leach into your food, are non-recyclable and add to our planet’s deeply-worrying landfill problems.

What is Argeena made of?

Our silicone is created using the platinum curing process. This, together with the highest quality raw material ensures that the sheet is stable, inert and pure, which is why the medical and infant industries utilise the same processes for their manufacturing. Not all silicone is created equal. It is not re-extruded and undergoes no chemical transformations. It is also completely inert so that it will not leach chemicals into the environment at any temperatures as most plastics and synthetic rubbers do.

Is Silicon Environmentally friendly?

Silicone definitely does have an environmental impact during production, as does the cotton and wax in beeswax wraps and stainless steel used for straws and lunch boxes. This, unfortunately, is the cost of our modern lives. Even solutions such as solar panels and batteries come with their own price exacted on our planet.

Where we are coming from, similar to such industries as solar and other eco products, our aim being to reduce the impact on our planet by having items that are multiple use and non toxic when used and disposed of. It is not only a less-waste solution, but a less-production solution too.

Simply, there is most definitely an impact on earth for the production of silicone. This is minimised if it is replacing single use options as well as offering a waste free alternative and recycling option post-use.

Where is Agreena made?

Our Agreena wraps are proudly Australian owned and made in China by a family owned factory that surpasses all modern ethical standards. We did everything we could to have these made in Australia but there was not a single manufacturer that could do it.

Where there is the opportunity to have a product made in Australia every effort should be made to support it. However, Australian businesses that do not have this opportunity also need support in order to continue providing jobs and innovation incentive for all Australians.

Our goal is to produce a product that is better for the planet. We are proud of our mission to replace single use plastic and baking paper. If we can do our bit to save the planet, we will continue to manufacture a quality, Australian designed product, from wherever on the planet we need to.

How do you recycle your wraps?

Our silicone wraps are shredded and added to other used rubberised products to become a crumble/composite that is used in roadbases and sports surfaces. They are unfortunately unable to be reconstituted into silicone for continued use.

We send envelopes to anyone internationally who requests them through our site for the return of old or damaged wraps and are happy to receive any silicone products that they can fit into them. After discovering the great need and desire of wonderful people who are fully committed to this process we are looking into creating a larger package or box that can contain a broader range of silicone products for returning for recycling.

We will soon be posting images of this process being carried out as soon as we have enough product, 1 tonne, to be able to process.

Reusables are definitely part of the solution to the single use land fill problem, and we thank you for considering these issues. It is brave and important to be looking directly at the impact of our conventional way of life and to pursue alternative solutions moving forward.

Agreena is strong enough to suit most applications and can tolerate temperatures of -40 to 446 degrees Fahrenheit or -40 to 230 degrees Celsius.

Use Agreena Wraps to replace cling film, foil and baking paper. Completely safe and non-toxic, it wraps sandwiches securely, seals bowls watertight, it works as a baking mat or cover for food in the microwave or freezer.

Wash your Agreena 3-in-1 Wrap in warm soapy water and hang off the edge of a bench or countertop — or just stick them to your splashback or tiled wall to dry. You can then fold and store them in a drawer or in a basket on your counter.

Agreena does not perform well in dishwashers. It tends to be flung around and end up a soggy mess on the bottom somewhere. On a commercial level these guys are better going into a hot machine wash in the same way as tea-towels or napkins might.

You can ensure a long and rewarding relationship with your Agreena Wrap if you just follow a few golden rules:

Keep away from sharp or pointy objects (do NOT use the Agreena Wrap as a cutting mat).

Do not exceed 220°C (428°F) in the oven.

Sugar or honey based syrups and acidic substances can cause discolouration and weakness.

Wash with very warm, soapy water and dry after each use.

Make sure that the Agreena Wrap, your hands, and the item being sealed are completely dry to ensure good adherence.

 

Agreena 3in1 Wraps come in two great sizes;

The Agreena 3in1 Combo Pack contains two each of our small 20cm x 20cm wraps and two each of our large 30cm x 30cm wraps.

The small size (20cm x 20cm) can wrap half a lemon, the end of a cucumber, half of an onion, half of an avocado, half of a sandwich, a small bowl, carrot sticks, biscuits, slices, cheese, or muffins.

The large size (30cm x 30cm) can cover a large bowl, pie dish, or salad bowl; wrap a sandwich, bread roll, or baguette;

The Agreena Bakers Sheets contain two (45cm x 30cm) sheets to line your baking tray or place over a dish to prevent burning or drying out. The large wrap can also be used as a non-stick dough mat for rolling out pie crusts, cookie dough, or other baked goods and wrapping bread sticks, garlic bread, potatoes and sealing those larger baking dishes.

Agreena an be cut into any shape and size that suits your purpose without compromising the integrity of the material. Just remember that bigger is better! With Agreena 3in1 Wraps the possibilities are endless!

Soapy Taste

This is unusual but not unheard of. My suggestion is to change to a different laundry detergent. Most people do not experience any leftover detergent smell or residue in their Agreena Wraps, however this simply comes down to the type of detergent or powder used. Hypo-allergenic and natural detergents tend to have less scent.

Smells

For smells that are lingering in your wraps I would suggest that you either;

Soak overnight in an oxygen bleach or washing soda and rinse thoroughly.

or

Place the wraps in a jar of white vinegar and shake vigorously for 1 minute before rinsing thoroughly.

Mould

Mould can be removed and have Agreena safe for use however it still may stain.

A soak in Napisan or an oxygen bleach, even a boil in a pot of boiling water on a stovetop will kill off any remaining nasties. While there may be staining, Agreena's surface will be sterile. Agreena has a microscopically flat surface without indentations so this prevents any mould from being harbored within it.

Stains

Some foods will stain your baking sheets, this is unavoidable however it will not affect Agreena's performance. Should you have a greasy build-up, try a soak in Napisan or an oxygen bleach, even popping your Agreena in a pot of boiling water in a saucepan on the stovetop is helpful too.

Torn Wraps

We don't have a warranty with Agreena as its time frame can vary depending upon on its use, being how many times it is used, how it is cared for and which applications it is mainly used for. Baking does reduce Agreena's life expectancy more than just wrapping and sealing.

Torn wraps can be trimmed around the tare to give it new life, or be recycled through our Return 2 Recycle program. Check out the Return 2 Recycle options in our shop.
